We first came across the True Men project, by photographer Brian Shumway, on Genderfork. As Shumway says in his artist statement, the men in this portrait series “boldly embrace expressions of male identity which flaunt the confines of conventional conceptions of manhood and what it means to be a man.” (These shots remind us of the fierce sissies in Elisha Lim’s 2012 Sissy wall calendar.
