Vancouver: Persistence is having a party and you’re invited!

Dear Vancouver,
We’ve spent the last week having delightful adventures in New York and Toronto, where we had two awesome launch parties, hung out with some of our favourite people, saw the Alexander McQueen exhibition (omfg!), bought some souvenirs, and ate fried cheese (we’re not sure if that last one is a highlight or a lowlight of the trip. Possibly both.).
We fly home to you tonight and we can’t wait to see your mountains and your cherry blossoms and your familiar streets. And we REALLY can’t wait for Thursday’s hometown book launch party at The WISE Hall (1882 Adanac St.). We have an awesome lineup of readers and performers. The show will start with the heart-pounding rhythms of taiko drumming group Jodaiko, followed by readings from Persistence contributors Amber Dawn, Brenda Barnes, Donnelly Black, Anne Fleming, romham padraig gallacher, Laiwan, Elizabeth Marston, and Elaine Miller.
The doors for the launch open at 7:30pm and the show starts at 8:00. Make sure to arrive on time ‘cause our New York and Toronto launches were packed to the rafters, standing-room-only affairs. (So many hot butches, femmes, and queers in one room!) All of the event details can be found on Facebook.
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, Vancouver.
Love,
Zena and Ivan xo
